2015-02-09 Largá las penas, Perth

Thanks to Chris for general advice and formatting.

There are things I would change about this set, not least, the actual choice of some tracks. But I neither have time nor inclination to make an ideal set from an improvised one especially when there are other sets I really do have to make! However, given that I did make those choices, here are some of the changes I would make. 

Overall, I think the set could have better balanced out the instrumentals and the songs.

I forgot how strong the D'Arienzo El Pollito is (the Canaro version is soft). I would change the order to Lorenzo - Jueves- Champagne tango - El Pollito, especially as this is a firm tanda to start the evening.

I love this kind of Di Sarli but would change the order next time, probably to Flora - No cantes victoria - Chau pinela - Añorándote.

The first 2 Rodriguez tracks are not much like the second two. I might replace with: Déjame ser asi -Adiós para siempre -Sólo tú -Vendrás alguna vez?

The Donato El huracán is good to start. Whether it fits well with the other three tracks is under review.

Next time, Silueta porteña might go second with La milonga de mis tiempos first.

The second d'Arienzo - if I stuck with the same choices, I might do Lilián - Cicatrices - No nos veremos nunca - Amarras. The black coffee then the liqueur! 

Malerba - A bailar is going under review. I think I find it a bit irritating but tracks one finds irritating at home can magically transform themselves in the milonga!

I am happy in retrospect with the de Angelis, the Troilo and the Laurenz, but think the Laurenz was perhaps a little early in the evening.

Poliya was popular all round (I wish it didn't have the drum roll). Whether it quite fits with the other three is review. 

Cacareando - I might put this on hold for a while. It also reminds me of a tanda complete with assorted farmyard animals that I heard recently at a well known traditional milonga and while Cacareando is gentle, and nothing like that, I do still shiver at that memory.

I would swap the order of the last two Canaro tracks.
